Can you identify this song?

Who the hell is this? It's been rattling around in my head for years now, ever since I heard it on KRUA. I tried emailing the station a long time ago, but no response. On the off chance that someone recognizes it from a few short lines, I figured I'd post here.

Here's what I know:
- mid-tempo acoustic finger/flatpicking
- male vocalist
- KRUA played it, so it's gotta be pretty indie

[a long-ish line I've forgotten]
